San Jose State’s Adrian Oliver was a major pain, scoring 29 points, including the game-winning basket with five seconds to play.

The loss eliminated the Warriors from the Western Athletic Conference tournament and any hope at gaining the NCAA automatic bid.

The season could be over for the Warriors unless they are given an invitation to play in the NIT.

A lot of people thought Hawaii might have a chance to sneak up on Boise State and at least keep it close, but they were never in the game.

Hawaii’s offense didn’t do anything for three quarters while the Boise State Broncos rolled up a 42-0 lead.

The Hawaii defense surrendered 507 passing yards to Kellen Moore, which simply isn’t going to get it done.

Hawaii finished with under 200 total yards of offense while Boise State had almost 750 yards, an incredible number.

The Hawaii Warriors are still expected to open up the 2010 college football season by hosting the USC Trojans. There was some talk that the game might not be played after the sanctions handed down by the NCAA on USC.

Part of the sactions handed down from the NCAA keeps USC from playing a 13th game in 2010 and 2011. However, the NCAA realizes that USC can’t go back now and remove one game from their schedule. That would be really unfair and troublesome for the opponent kicked off their schedule, especially since the Trojans are such a hot-selling ticket.

The NCAA announced that the University of Southern California will still be allowed to play its game against Hawaii to open the season on Sept. 2. Despite the sanctioned imposed on the university, the NCAA decided to allow the game to go on, which was in serious jeopardy after last week’s decision was levied.

The sanctions specifically disallow USC from playing at Hawaii for a 13th game, but the NCAA allowed it to go on this season because the game was scheduled years ago.On the surface, this is bad news for the Warriors, right? A game against USC is surely going to result in a loss. But this game is about much more than wins and losses. The cash-strapped Hawaii athletic program was banking on the USC game to earn revenue, more so than any other game on the football schedule. Even with the recent sanctions, the Trojans are a big draw on the road as one of the most recognizable programs in the country. Hawaii should sell out the game.

So while the Warriors might take a beating on the field come Sept. 2, it will make a killing off of it.
